The Suburban - Bar & Lounge

Welcome to The Suburban bar and lounge, Main Street Croydon - a simple, stylish and elegant wine-bar and lounge.

We are located in what locals refer to as the Paris end of Main Street, in the heritage listed state bank building.

Once you slip past the red velvet curtains you will find that a derelict shop front has been transformed into a glamorous wine bar and lounge in the tradition of the heritage listed building that houses it.

The space is filled with large leather couches, old fashioned booths, a pressed metal wall, leading up to a large mingling space at the impressively stocked bar,

The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, with relaxed attitude. Owners, Rebecca Gallagher and Dale White have created a stunning space with an open bar area literally stocked to the rafters with bottles, creating a backdrop of wines and spirits highlighted by beautifully dimmed lighting and amazing light fixtures.

The menu is conducive to sharing several dishes amongst friends, or you can have a no holds barred special occasion three-course dinner centred on larger main meals. The mains meals change weekly, in line with the produce that has inspired the chef that week.

The Suburban was created by a team who were intent on providing the people of Croydon and surrounding areas with a place to call their own, to provide a special place for people to meet, eat, drink, entertain, chat, muse, plan, relax and celebrate.
